#igersgeneva exhibition at Found Concept Store in Geneva
GENEVA SOCIAL NETWORK, LE JUICE GENEVE, LIVING IN GENEVA

Have You Checked Out the Hashtag #igersgeneva?

This is the hashtag for the biggest community of Instagramers in Switzerland, who also happen to have an exhibition from now until August 30th at the concept store Foound.

The community organises competitions, events and exhibitions and people are invited to post photos on Instagram with the hashtag #igersgeneva. Certain tags are then selected to be featured on the IgersGeneva Instagram feed. There are 450 communities of Instagramers in 85 countries at the moment using the hashtag #igers(and region).

This exhibition presents 90 photos by 45 photographers. The opening, held on August 18th at Foound, was a full house. The photos themselves cover a wide range of themes and many participants are professional photographers.  No amateur cat photos in sight but there was one great cat photo of said cat next to his own likeness imprinted on a pillow.  I was happy to see that someone was snapping a photo of a picture of his own identical looking cat, displayed on his IPhone, next to this cat photo of all cat-pillow photos.  It will be on Instagram by now no doubt.  Social media – you are good.

Check out the concept store Foound at 16 rue Jean Gutenberg, 1201 Genève. They just opened last February with a mission to support young artists and entrepreneurs. They offer a little bit of everything from yoga courses, to artisanal beer tastings, night markets, and hair salon.

The exhibition runs at Foound until August 30th.
